Weld Nuts
A weld nut is a type of nut that is welded to another object. It is essentially a threaded opening on a sheet metal face.
Pressure is applied to the projecting pins of the weld nut and a strong electric current is passed across the points of contact, raising the surface temperature sufficiently to weld the nut in place.
Weld nuts are available with metric threads and only in a self colour finish – weld nuts should not be plated as the plating interferes with the welding process.
