Threaded Rod - UNC
About UNC Threaded Rods
UNC (Unified Coarse Thread) threaded rod is available in 3-foot lengths of grade 8.8 (B7) and grade 4.6 steel, with a self-colour finish. The Unified series of imperial threaded rods was adopted in the UK, USA and Canada during the 1940s; it was commonly used until the 1970s when they were superseded by metric threads.
UNC threaded bars have a 60-degree thread flank angle, but like other threaded rods are essentially metal bars (made from mild steel or brass) that have a helical thread all the way along its length. Like UNF, UNC threaded rods are manufactured to be installed in areas where they are subjected to high levels of tension and pressure.
Customers should be aware that threaded rods have various names, and are also commonly called threaded bar, allthread and studding.
