Cage Nuts

Cage nuts, sometimes also referred to as a captive nut, is a square nut held inside a captive spring steel cage.

The cage has two wings that are compressed together to allow them to be installed in a hole. When the wings are released the outward pressure of the spring holds the cage nut firmly in position.

Cage nuts are often used in automotive applications. They are available in standard metric sizes in a zinc plated or stainless steel finish.
