Starlock Washers - Uncapped - Metric
Star-Lock washers are a brand name of a push-on fastener manufactured for the purpose of gripping onto round shafts. Once pushed on to the shaft, they grip immediately. Once secured, Star-Lock washers are almost impossible to remove without damaging and probably destroying them.
They are commonly used on the axles of prams and pushchairs to prevent the wheels from working loose.
The washers in the section are uncapped. If required, capped Star-Lock washers are available which feature a push-on cap that hides the internal serrated section of the washer.
The most common thread type in production today. Usually specified as M then a number x another number. This signifies the thread diameter and the length of the fastener.
For example M4 x 30 means that the major thread diameter (the external distance across the outside of the thread) is 4mm and the length is 30mm. Length is usually measured from the underside of the fastener head.
