Weld Studs are used to instantly connect a male threaded stud onto a section of sheet metal through the use of a Stud Welder (a stud welding machine). We stock Weld Studs in mild steel copper-plated, stainless steel and aluminium.

What is Capacitator Discharge Welding?

Weld Studs use CD welding, which stands for 'Capacitor Discharge'. Ideal for use in large scale production processes, CD welders are a portable type of handheld type of weld gun that holds the stud firmly in place and, when the trigger is depressed, welds it directly and instantly to the receiving metal sheet. CD welding is proven to be very strong as the fastener will fail before the weld does.

About The A2 Stainless Steel Finish

A2 stainless steel is often referred to as 304 or 18/8 Stainless. 18/8 actually refers to the amount of chromium and nickel in the alloy - 18% chromium and 8% nickel.

A2 stainless is the most common type of steel used for the manufacture of fasteners and is suitable for general use.
